Rocket Shit

ROCKET SHIT (dannon, 2007)

This is a journey. You should have left a long time ago...
The earliest designs for rocket ships had them leaving Earth by traveling down a long rail...but leaving is never the dangerous part...it is re-entry.

Moving Violation

MOVING VIOLATION (dannon, 2007)

In the rain, standing on the corner, waiting, the lights still look soft. How can we become closer with the traffic? How close is too close?

Quicktime MOV rough cuts

#1, The man with the movie camera...I am interested here mostly in the texture of the glass that we are seeing the reflection in.

A scene from in Traffic. Here I find the distortion and brightness of
the tail lights make them look obscure...as well as an almost unrecognizable reflection of police lights....

The emerald city. I like the way the images is broken up...its almost like being and insect...
Its the reflections on the water that are eye catching here...combined the texture of the ice itself its sometimes creates new shapes forms and textures
Looks somewhat like white noise...I like the jumps...

Strategy #2

Emitted Light
Close to all of the light we see outside during a bright day is reflected sunlight. Very little amount of light originates elsewhere when the sun comes out. This strategy has me seeking out and using light sources other than the sun during a sunny day. One example would be a signal light at an intersection, but I am sure that one could find many, more interesting and usually unnoticed examples of emitted light in the daytime. This light could be captured at close enough range so that the reaction, at least initially, is, "what is that?"

Strategy #1

Reflections, refractions and other Distortions
The strategy is to gather light that is someway distorted by reflection or refraction. This may be reflections in the surface of water or light that is seen through smoke. Basically any type of reflection OR refraction in which distortion is sufficient that you can not make out a specific image in it. The reaction should be, "what is that?"
